About the Role
The Website Assistant supports basic website updates on the FWD Wix platform under the direction of the Board and Website Design team/Art Director. This is a straightforward, task-based role for someone comfortable navigating Wix to make simple content edits — text, images, links — exactly as instructed.
You won’t be making heavy creative decisions. Your job is to execute website tasks accurately and efficiently when assigned.
If you’re looking for a simple way to stay involved, know your way around Wix (or can learn fast), and can follow instructions without overthinking, this is a perfect fit.
Requirements & Responsibilities
Follow Update Requests: Make content changes on the FWD website in Wix based on clear instructions — including adding event details, updating text, blog and news posts, swapping images, or fixing links.
Basic Platform Management: Use Wix tools to ensure updates are clean, functional, and aligned with existing site structure and ADA compliance where necessary.
Prompt Task Completion: Respond to update requests in a timely manner — reliability is more important than creativity.
Maintain Consistency: Ensure that any edits respect the established look, feel, and accessibility of the site — no freelance design experiments.
Flag Issues: If you notice something broken or off during an update, flag it to the art director or website design team — don’t try to overhaul or “fix” things independently.
Time Commitment
On-Call, As-Needed:
Typically less than 4-8 hours per month, depending on how often updates are required.
Some months may have no tasks; others may involve a few quick edits. Flexibility is fine, but responsiveness when tasks arise is highly expected.
What You Gain as a Volunteer
