About the Role
The Outreach & Partnerships Coordinator is responsible for expanding FWD’s network by cultivating strong relationships with organizations, institutions, and key individuals across the U.S. and internationally. This role is about more than exchanging business cards — it’s about forging partnerships that lead to real opportunities, collaborative initiatives, and increased visibility for FWD.
Whether you come with an existing network or you’re ready to build one, you need to be proactive, strategic, and relentless in connecting FWD to the right people and organizations.
Requirements & Responsibilities
Cultivate Partnerships: Identify, approach, and develop relationships with universities, nonprofits, other Fulbright chapters, advocacy groups, and other relevant organizations that align with FWD’s mission and initiatives.
National & International Outreach: Focus on expanding FWD’s presence both within the U.S. and globally, ensuring representation and collaboration opportunities across borders.
Strategic Relationship Management: Maintain ongoing communication with partners and our Board, ensuring relationships are active, mutually beneficial, and lead to tangible outcomes (e.g., joint events, resource sharing, sponsorships).
Collaborate with Fundraising & Events: Coordinate with the Fundraising and Event teams to leverage partnerships for sponsorships, co-hosted events, and collaborative campaigns.
Spotlight Opportunities: Stay alert to conferences, programs, and initiatives where FWD should have a presence or voice. Help position FWD as a go-to partner in relevant spaces.
Track Outreach Efforts: Maintain a living database of contacts, partnerships, and outreach activities. Report regularly to the Board on new connections and ongoing collaborations.
Promotional Support: Work with the Communications team to announce partnerships, highlight joint initiatives, and promote collaborative successes.
Time Commitment
Flexible, Project-Based:On average, 0-5 hours per week, depending on event cycles and current chapter needs for partnerships. Some weeks may require no involvement; during active event periods, expect to commit more hours to meet deadlines and ensure successful delivery.
Attendance at key Board meetings or check-ins leading up to events is expected.
This is not a full-time or part-time role technically — it's a leadership responsibility that requires reliability when it counts.
